IMATS Vancouver: International Makeup Artist Trade Show May 30-31 2015

IMATS returns to Vancouver this weekend May 30-31st at the Vancouver Convention Centre WEST. This annual industry trade show brings together makeup artistry vendors, schools and artists, industry celebrities from Hollywood, and offers a wide range of classes and panels for attendees.

In year 2010, Vancouver joined in the rank with Los Angeles, London, Sydney and Toronto as a city of recognized makeup artistry industry with the launch of IMATS. Over the years, the BC film industry, known as the Hollywood North, contributes to the increase demand for professional makeup artists, businesses and training programs.

According to Richard Brownsey, president of Creative BC, a group that includes the B.C. Film Commission, dedicated the raising numbers of productions to shoot in BC to local experienced crews, versatile studios and dependable infrastructures. BC being in the same time zone with L.A. Hollywood and having a relatively stable climate also contributes to the industry bloom.
